Very often you see people follow their heart and do whatever they always wanted to do in their life. The hustle of life and responsibilities flows you in the stream of it’s own.
Sutapa Pal is the former Associate Vice President of a major multinational bank one such individual who followed her passion at the peak of her career.
We spoke to her recently and when asked about her decision of choosing a new profession at this point, she said – “It was time to consider the profit and loss statement of my own happiness quotient after 15 years of handling multinational bank balance sheets. I came to the realization that I did not intend to continue doing this for the rest of my life. After achieving success in my previous endeavors, I had reached the point where I desired to shift to my heart’s desire.”

Sutapa added – “Photography and traveling are dear to my heart. In the right ways, it is both retro and forward-thinking. Retro because it had made the journey worthwhile while removing my cushion of a guaranteed monthly income and put me at risk of going down a path where I had no prior experience. It’s often hard to find a reason to turn down more money or recognition. Thinking in the future because it would move my heart to where it belongs. My happiness lies in this.”

Later to pursue her passion Sutapa quit her job in April 2018 and joined “The One School Goa” to advance her hobby to make it more intense and better. She left Delhi NCR on purpose because she wanted to get out of her comfort zone to learn and think about her ideas with the help of artists, photographers who had already mastered this art.

Finally, she returned to Delhi after spending a year in Goa, where she began her career as a full-time food and lifestyle photographer.
She summarized her 4.5-years career, her new found love as a photographer and said that “I experienced both joy and despair, but at the end, where I am today gives me immense pleasure to do what I love most and produce stunning images for a variety of other creators, including bakers, interior designers, chefs, and many others. For this amazing journey, I am grateful to all of my amazing clients, many of whom later become my friends.”
