Nokia is expanding its artificial intelligence strategy through deeper partnerships with TIM Brasil and Deutsche Telekom. The Finnish network gear maker aims to capitalise on the rapid global adoption of AI-driven technologies.
The agreements follow a multi-year contract with Telefonica to provide network solutions for data centres across Spain. Together, these deals show how AI infrastructure now drives fresh revenue streams for Nokia.
Expanding AI networks in Brazil
Nokia will widen its existing partnership with TIM Brasil beyond 5G modernisation in Sao Paulo. The company will now extend services to 14 additional states across four regions. The expansion will cover around 42 of Brazil’s population.
TIM Brasil will use AI RAN platforms developed by Nvidia to deliver AI-driven services to enterprise clients. The move will help businesses integrate advanced computing directly into telecom networks. Nokia expects strong demand from companies seeking smarter and faster connectivity.
Deeper collaboration in Germany
Nokia and Deutsche Telekom will accelerate the development of cloud-based and AI native radio access network technology. The companies want to build programmable and automated mobile networks. These networks will support faster performance and simpler operations.
Both firms see AI reshaping the telecom industry. They plan to prepare networks for future data-heavy applications and advanced enterprise use cases.
Positioning for the AI boom
Telecom operators across the world are upgrading to 5G to support large-scale AI deployment. This shift creates major opportunities for equipment providers such as Ericsson.
Nokia continues one of its biggest restructurings since exiting the mobile handset business more than a decade ago. The company acquired optical networking firm Infinera and secured a strategic equity investment from Nvidia. It now bets on AI and data centre growth to offset uneven 5G spending and contract losses.
