New Delhi, January 8, 2026:
AVG Logistics Limited has launched a new rail-based liquid logistics vertical, marking a strategic expansion aligned with the company’s focus on innovation, sustainability and specialised transportation solutions. The initiative begins operations with Chemplast Sanmar Limited as its first customer, reflecting growing industry demand for safe, reliable and compliant chemical transportation in India.
Rail-Led Liquid Logistics for Bulk Chemical Transportation
The newly launched vertical is designed to transport bulk liquid chemicals efficiently across major industrial corridors using high-grade ISO tank containers. These containers are manufactured in strict adherence to global safety and quality standards, ensuring secure movement of sensitive liquid cargo.
Each train under this initiative is configured to carry 96 ISO tank containers, with a total payload capacity of approximately 3,100 tonnes per trip. The project is expected to generate annual revenues of ₹22–24 crore, highlighting the strong commercial potential of AVG Logistics’ entry into the liquid logistics segment.
Integrated Multimodal Logistics Ecosystem
This launch reinforces AVG Logistics’ commitment to building an integrated liquid transportation ecosystem for chemical and allied industries. The rail service complements the company’s recently imported ISO tank container fleet, enabling a seamless first-mile pickup, long-haul rail movement and last-mile delivery model.
To ensure operational continuity and asset availability, AVG Logistics has entered into a long-term lease agreement with the Central Warehousing Corporation for flatbed train infrastructure. This collaboration supports consistent service delivery while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance.
Meeting the Growing Demand for Safe and Compliant Liquid Logistics
The company’s entry into liquid logistics addresses the rising market need for scalable, cost-efficient and regulation-compliant transportation solutions. By leveraging rail logistics, AVG Logistics aims to reduce operational risks, improve transit reliability and offer time-bound delivery for liquid cargo.
With years of experience operating van parcel and freight services across multiple routes in India, AVG Logistics is now expanding into liquid and bulk chemical transportation, a segment where precision, asset quality and safety standards are critical.
Rail-Based Transportation Improves Safety and Efficienc
The rail-led liquid logistics solution offers a strong alternative to conventional road transport. It reduces transit time, enhances cargo integrity and significantly minimises handling-related risks, which are especially critical in chemical transportation.
By limiting multiple touchpoints and long road hauls, the model ensures greater operational control and improved safety outcomes for customers transporting hazardous and non-hazardous liquids.
Focus on Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility
Sustainability is a key driver of this initiative. Rail-based liquid transportation results in lower carbon emissions per tonne-kilometre, reduced highway congestion and optimised fuel consumption.
By integrating rail operations with its ISO tank container fleet, AVG Logistics is developing a scalable and environmentally responsible logistics model for bulk liquid movement, supporting India’s broader sustainability goals.
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, AVG Logistics plans to gradually expand its liquid logistics train operations based on customer demand and corridor viability. The company remains committed to investing in specialised assets, advanced safety systems and compliance frameworks to support India’s growing chemical, pharmaceutical and industrial liquid supply chains.
Through this strategic expansion, AVG Logistics continues to strengthen its position as a comprehensive multimodal logistics partner, focused on building cleaner, smarter and future-ready supply chains.
