Blue Star Limited has launched a comprehensive new range of unitary cooling products, including an expanded portfolio of room air conditioners and commercial refrigeration solutions, as it looks to capitalise on the next phase of growth in India’s rapidly expanding cooling market.
The company introduced 125 models of room air conditioners for Summer 2026, spanning inverter, fixed speed, and window ACs across multiple price segments. The new lineup complies with the revised Bureau of Energy Efficiency norms effective January 1, 2026, and targets rising demand for energy-efficient and high-performance cooling solutions across residential and commercial segments.
Expands AC portfolio with 125 Energy-Efficient Models for 2026
India’s room air conditioner market continues to witness strong structural growth, supported by increasing urbanisation, rising incomes, and intensifying climate conditions. The industry is projected to grow from around 14 million units to 30 million units by FY30, driven by both first-time buyers and replacement demand. Emerging markets in Tier 3, 4, and 5 cities are playing a key role in this expansion.
As part of its latest portfolio, Blue Star launched a premium range branded ‘Iconia’, aimed at consumers seeking high-end design and performance. The company also introduced specialised categories such as super energy efficient ACs, heavy-duty ACs, hot and cold ACs, and models equipped with anti-virus technology.
The super energy-efficient ACs feature Dynamic Drive Technology and deliver higher airflow with optimised cooling performance. The 1TR inverter split models achieve an ISEER rating of 6.25, making them significantly more efficient than standard 3-star inverter units. Meanwhile, heavy-duty models are designed to operate in extreme temperatures of up to 56 degrees Celsius, ensuring consistent cooling even during peak summer.
Blue Star’s hot and cold AC range is built for year-round comfort, with select models capable of operating in temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius, catering to regions with harsh winters. The anti-virus ACs enhance indoor air quality by filtering harmful particles and offering air purification modes, particularly useful during seasonal changes.
Nearly 50 models in the new range are WiFi-enabled, offering smart features such as AI-based adaptive cooling, voice command functionality, and energy monitoring. Additional features include multi-layer filtration, convertible cooling modes, self-cleaning technology, and corrosion protection systems.
Strengthens Manufacturing, Distribution, and Commercial Refrigeration Business
To support growing demand, Blue Star has expanded its manufacturing footprint with facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The company’s current production capacity stands at 1.4 million units, scalable to 1.8 million units. These plants incorporate advanced automation, IoT integration, and digital systems to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
Beyond room air conditioners, the company continues to strengthen its commercial refrigeration portfolio, offering solutions such as deep freezers, cold rooms, water coolers, and healthcare refrigeration systems. These products cater to sectors including food retail, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, and cold chain logistics, where demand is being driven by the growth of organised retail and quick commerce.
The company has also expanded its distribution and service network, with a presence across 900 towns and over 10000 retail outlets, supported by more than 2100 service partners nationwide. Its service infrastructure is designed to ensure reliable after-sales support and improved customer experience.

Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Managing Director B Thiagarajan said India’s cooling demand is entering a high growth phase, with nearly 150 million households expected to afford air conditioners in the coming years. He added that the new unitary cooling portfolio positions Blue Star to tap into both residential and commercial opportunities.
With continued investments in technology, sustainability, and distribution, Blue Star aims to strengthen its leadership in India’s cooling solutions market while addressing the growing need for energy-efficient and climate-responsive products.
