Cashfree Payments has appointed Sameer Gandhi as its Chief Financial Officer. He brings over two decades of experience across global financial institutions. Gandhi will lead the company’s financial strategy with a focus on improving efficiency and strengthening revenue planning.
His appointment comes at a time when Cashfree is looking to accelerate growth and move towards profitability in the coming quarters.
Experienced Industry Veteran
Gandhi previously served as Head of Finance at Visa India, where he led financial planning and operations. He has also held senior roles at Vodafone and ING Australia. He began his career at CRISIL and Citigroup, building deep expertise across finance, M&A, and business strategy.
Growth Momentum and Innovation Focus
Cashfree Payments has recently strengthened its market position by becoming one of the first platforms in India to secure all three Reserve Bank of India payments licences — Payment Aggregator, cross-border, and Prepaid Payment Instrument. This regulatory edge has driven strong growth, especially in cross-border payments, which have surged 250 percent year on year.

The company processes over 80 billion dollars in transactions annually and serves more than one million businesses. It also raised 53 million dollars in a recent funding round led by KRAFTON.
Looking ahead, Cashfree plans to launch AI-driven payment solutions, including MCP servers and “Cashfree Here”, while expanding its Secure ID stack to simplify onboarding and enhance fraud detection.
