India’s home and lifestyle market is getting a celebrity-led makeover. Pepperfry has appointed Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra as its new brand ambassadors, as the furniture and home décor platform introduces a refreshed brand philosophy, “Fashion for Your Home.”

The partnership is aimed at taking Pepperfry beyond the traditional perception of a furniture marketplace and strengthening its positioning as a home and lifestyle destination, where furniture and décor become expressions of individual personality and style.

Pepperfry’s New Brand Positioning: ‘Fashion for Your Home’

The central idea behind the new campaign is simple: a home is no longer viewed merely as a functional space.

For modern consumers, the way a home looks and feels can reflect their personality, aspirations and lifestyle. Pepperfry is building its new brand narrative around this changing consumer mindset.

The company’s “Fashion for Your Home” philosophy attempts to bring the language of fashion into home decor – encouraging consumers to think about furniture, lighting, furnishings and accessories as elements of personal expression.

According to Pepperfry, more than 60% of its customer purchases come from home décor and home goods, while its catalogue includes more than 100,000 products across over 50 categories spanning furniture, décor, lighting and furnishings.

That makes the new positioning particularly relevant: instead of focusing only on buying furniture, the brand is attempting to own a much larger conversation around how people create and style their homes.

Why Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra?

The choice of Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra fits naturally into this positioning.

Both actors have strong associations with fashion, contemporary lifestyle and aspirational urban living. Their presence allows Pepperfry to communicate home styling through personalities that consumers already associate with modern aesthetics and popular culture.

More importantly, the partnership gives the brand an opportunity to move from conventional product-led advertising to lifestyle storytelling.

Instead of simply showcasing a sofa, bed or décor item, the brand can build narratives around the people, relationships and everyday moments that happen around those products.

That distinction is increasingly important in celebrity marketing. Consumers today are exposed to an enormous amount of branded content. Celebrity visibility alone may not be enough; brands increasingly need celebrities who can fit naturally into the story they want to tell.

Recent industry commentary has also pointed to the growing relevance of Kiara and Sidharth as celebrity brand choices, particularly as marketers move from simple star power towards relatability and lifestyle-led storytelling.

From Furniture Marketplace to Home Lifestyle Brand

Pepperfry has been operating in India’s home retail segment for more than a decade and has built an omnichannel presence across the country.

Its latest brand strategy indicates a larger ambition.

The company says it is working with more than 100 leading D2C and home brands and expanding its omnichannel footprint to create a broader home ecosystem.

This means the opportunity is no longer limited to selling furniture.

A consumer who enters the platform to buy a sofa could potentially also discover:

    • home décor
    • lighting
    • furnishings
    • accessories
    • lifestyle products
    • other elements needed to complete a space

That creates a much wider role for Pepperfry in the consumer’s home-buying journey.

Why ‘Home Styling’ Is Becoming a Bigger Opportunity

Indian consumers’ relationship with their homes has changed considerably.

Social media platforms have made interior design, home makeovers and décor inspiration more accessible than ever. Consumers regularly discover ideas through Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and short-form video platforms before making purchasing decisions.

This has blurred the boundaries between fashion, lifestyle and home décor.

The same consumer who follows fashion trends may also want their living room, bedroom or workspace to reflect a particular aesthetic.

Pepperfry’s new positioning taps into precisely this behavioural shift.

By describing home décor as “fashion for your home,” the brand is attempting to make home styling feel more personal, contemporary and aspirational.

    Celebrity Marketing Meets Everyday Living

There is another interesting element to the partnership.

Kiara and Sidharth allow Pepperfry to present home décor through a couple that audiences already recognise as a contemporary lifestyle pairing.

Their own public image can help the brand create stories around shared spaces, personal choices and the idea of building a home together.

The actors themselves have described a home as a place where memories are created and personalities come alive, aligning closely with Pepperfry’s new brand philosophy.

For a home and lifestyle brand, that emotional layer can be valuable. Furniture is ultimately a functional purchase, but the reason people care about it is often emotional.

A dining table is where families gather. A sofa becomes part of everyday conversations. A bedroom becomes a personal space. A lamp, painting or cushion can change the character of an entire room.

The brand’s new strategy is therefore less about selling individual products and more about connecting products with identity and lifestyle.

    What This Means for Pepperfry

The appointment of Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra comes at a time when the home décor category is becoming increasingly competitive.

Consumers now have access to furniture and décor through:

    • specialist furniture platforms
    • marketplaces
    • D2C brands
    • social commerce
    • offline retailers
    • interior design platforms

In such a market, differentiation becomes crucial.

Pepperfry’s attempt to position itself around personal style and home expression gives it a broader brand territory than simply competing on furniture selection or pricing.

The company says its ambition is to become India’s preferred home and lifestyle destination by combining technology, design and omnichannel retail experiences.

    The Bigger Marketing Takeaway

There is an interesting lesson here for marketers.

Celebrity partnerships work best when the celebrity does more than attract attention.

The stronger question is: Can the celebrity help the brand explain its new positioning?

In Pepperfry’s case, Kiara and Sidharth are being used to represent a particular idea of modern living — stylish, aspirational and personal.

That makes the partnership more strategic than a conventional endorsement.

The brand isn’t simply saying, “These celebrities use our products.”

It is attempting to say, “Your home can express who you are, just like your clothes do.”

That is a much bigger consumer proposition.

    What Comes Next for Pepperfry?

The success of this new brand chapter will ultimately depend on how consistently Pepperfry translates the “Fashion for Your Home” idea across campaigns, digital content, stores and customer experiences.

If executed well, the positioning could help the brand expand the conversation from furniture shopping to home styling and lifestyle discovery.

For now, bringing Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra on board gives Pepperfry two highly recognisable faces to introduce that idea to a wider audience.

And the timing is interesting: as Indian consumers increasingly treat their homes as extensions of their personalities, the line between fashion, lifestyle and home décor is becoming increasingly blurred.

Pepperfry is clearly betting on that intersection.
