Samsung has announced the launch of its new T7 and T9 microSD Cards in India, strengthening its removable storage lineup to meet the rising demand for high-capacity and high-performance storage solutions. The move reflects the company’s focus on catering to gamers, content creators, and everyday users across an increasingly device-driven ecosystem.
The newly introduced cards are built on Samsung’s storage expertise and feature a simplified naming structure aimed at improving brand recall and consumer clarity. With this launch, Samsung is also aligning its removable storage portfolio with its existing Portable SSD range, marking a strategic shift towards a more unified brand identity.
Designed for Everyday and Performance Users
The T7 microSD Card is positioned as a reliable solution for everyday users, including light gamers and casual content creators. It offers storage capacities of up to 1TB and delivers read speeds of up to 170MB per second. The card supports a wide range of devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, and handheld gaming consoles, ensuring seamless data storage and transfer.
In contrast, the T9 microSD Card is designed for performance-focused users who handle large data files. With read speeds of up to 200MB per second and six proof protection, the T9 is built for demanding environments. It is particularly suited for use in drones, action cameras, and high-performance devices, alongside standard compatibility with smartphones and laptops.

Strategic Shift Towards ‘T’ Series Branding
The launch also signals Samsung’s transition from its earlier naming conventions, including EVO Plus and PRO Plus, to a streamlined ‘T’ series. The ‘T’ stands for trustworthiness, highlighting the brand’s emphasis on reliability, storage capacity, and performance. This shift is expected to simplify product selection for consumers while reinforcing brand consistency. Both the T7 and T9 microSD Cards will be available for purchase across India starting from the first week of May 2026.
