From portable water purification devices for defence personnel to wearable safety rings that can send emergency SOS alerts, students across Delhi NCR are developing innovative solutions to real-world challenges through Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, Samsung India’s flagship innovation and education programme.
Designed for young people aged 14 to 22 years, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow encourages participants to identify pressing societal issues and create technology-driven solutions across areas such as artificial intelligence, health and education, environmental sustainability, and sport and tech.
At Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), students showcased a range of ideas inspired by challenges faced within their communities. Among the concepts were a lightweight water purification solution for defence personnel stationed in remote regions, nutritious snack options designed for women managing PCOD, wearable safety accessories capable of sending emergency alerts, and non-toxic makeup products tailored specifically for children.
“The workshop helped us understand that innovation starts with identifying real problems faced by people around us. It gave us a structured approach to develop ideas that can make a meaningful difference,” said Gauri Sharma, a B.Pharma student at DPSRU.

Design Thinking Inspires Young Innovators
Students at Amity International School also explored how empathy, creativity and problem-solving can be applied to address everyday challenges and improve lives.
“The Design Thinking process encouraged us to look at problems differently and think about practical solutions that can positively impact communities. It showed us how ideas can be developed into solutions that address real-world challenges,” said Sudarsh Kothari, a student at Amity International School.
As part of the 2026 edition, Samsung has expanded the programme significantly, conducting Design Thinking Workshops across 100 cities in India. The initiative aims to nurture innovation at the grassroots level by equipping students with the tools, mentorship and guidance needed to transform ideas into impactful solutions.
The programme will conclude with the top four winning teams receiving incubation grants worth INR 2 crore at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Participants will also gain access to mentorship, training, prototyping support and exposure to India’s growing innovation ecosystem, helping them take their ideas from classrooms to communities.
