Electric vehicle giant Tesla has expanded its presence in India with the launch of its first experience centre in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area, one of the country’s biggest technology and startup hubs. Located at VR Bengaluru on Whitefield Main Road, the new facility will allow customers to explore Tesla’s globally popular Model Y and the newly introduced Model Y L starting May 14, 2026.
The launch marks another major step in Tesla’s growing India journey as the company aims to strengthen electric mobility adoption across key urban markets.
Model Y L Takes Centre Stage
The newly unveiled Model Y L is a premium three-row, six-seater electric SUV designed for families looking for comfort, safety and performance. Starting at ₹61.99 lakh, the SUV offers a driving range of up to 681 km on a single charge under WLTP standards. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds while offering cargo space of up to 2,539 litres.
Tesla says the Model Y L has been engineered to maximise interior space, headroom and passenger comfort, making it ideal for long-distance family travel. The vehicle has also received a five-star safety rating from ANCAP and has earned top safety scores from several global organisations, including NHTSA, IIHS, Euro NCAP and CIASI.
Expanding Charging and Service Support
Along with the new experience centre, Tesla has also announced after-sales service operations in Whitefield to strengthen customer support in Bengaluru. The company said the move is aimed at improving the ownership experience for its growing customer base in India.
Tesla highlighted its fast charging capabilities as a major advantage for long-distance travel. Using Tesla Superchargers, the Model Y L can add up to 288 km of range in just 15 minutes. The company is also offering home charging support in India to make EV ownership more convenient for users.
Customers can place orders for the Model Y L through Tesla’s official website and also visit Tesla experience centres in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi, along with the Tesla Centre in Gurugram, for test drives and more information.
